Training Programs – International and Global Health Collaborations
Canada's future prosperity depends on having a critical mass of Canadian health scientists with the international as well as global health knowledge and intercultural skills necessary to meet globalization challenges. CIHR is committed to ensuring that Canada's future health scientists are internationally-connected.This section is aimed at keeping health/medical students and postdoctoral fellows abreast of CIHR training programs and fellowships that will enable them to train abroad, as well as enable foreign postdoctoral researchers to train in a Canadian research environment.
The following CIHR training programs enable Canadian students/fellows to pursue research training abroad:
- Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships
- CIHR Fellowship (Post-PhD or post-health professional degree stages)
- CIHR Doctoral Foreign Study Awards
- Michael Smith Foreign Study Supplement – Canada Graduate scholarships holders only (Master or Doctoral Level)
