Partnership tool for second call under the Joint Canada-Israel Health Research Program (JCIHRP) Phase II
This second call under Phase II of JCIHRP aims to support applicants conducting research in the broad area of Communicable Diseases in cutting-edge research in the biomedical sciences and global health while strengthening capacity in Canada, Israel and in low- and middle-income countries (LMIC). The detailed guidelines for submission will be published on CIHR’s Funding Opportunity database.
This partnership tool is meant to facilitate connections between researchers in Canada, Israel and LMIC countries should there be interest.
The information is submitted on a volunteer basis and does not confer any advantages in the evaluation and funding of applications. Users of the tool may leverage it at their own discretion and responsibility.

How can I identify potential Canadian collaborators in my field?
The following searchable databases can help researchers identify potential collaborators in Canada.
- CIHR Funding Decisions Database: This database is comprised of data pertaining to grants and awards approved by CIHR since January 2009. Searches can be conducted using research subject, investigator, location, program, institute/theme and partners. Please note that this database does not contain researchers' contact information; however, it does identify their institution of affiliation at the time of the award.
- Canada Research Chairs: This database of over 1,800 profiles of Canada Research Chairs will help those looking for research leaders in the natural sciences, engineering, health, the social sciences or the humanities.
- Canadian Research Information System: This database contains data on grants and awards funded by a number of Canadian research funding agencies. Searches can be conducted using research subject, investigator, location, funded details, and agency. This database does not contain researchers' contact information; however, it does identify their institution of affiliation at the time of the award.
- External Databases: This list contains a selection of information databases on projects funded by other agencies.
How can I identify potential Israeli collaborators in my field?
- Israel Science Foundation Grants Database: This database is comprised of data pertaining to grants and awards approved by ISF since January 2002. Searches can be conducted using the researcher name, program, field type, grant year, and research institution.

Independent researcher in a Low Middle Income Country (LMIC) | Exploring molecular signature in evaluating the impact of organic contaminants associated to airborne and settled particulate matters. The release of toxicants in the atmosphere has recognized to induce harmful effects on humans and injure the environment. Therefore, the knowledge of nature, amount and land spread of emissions appears mandatory if strategies aimed at mitigating the toxicants impact must be implemented [Albaiges et al 1984, Bascom et al 1996, Yassaa at al 2001, Ma et al 2015, Błaszczyk et al 2017, Sifakis et al 2017,Cetin et al 2018, Nieder et al 2018, Vaz 2018].It is therefore intended to obtain quantitative estimates of contributions of sources to air pollution relying on the molecular signature of non-polar organic fraction comprising short/medium-chain alkenes and alkanes (with carbon numbers ranging from 12 to 23), which display distinct relative abundances in petrol-derived exhausts, microorganism residues and high vegetation leaf debris. | Partners based in Israel and Canada are welcomed to foster collaboration and research on determining organic composition and characterizing the nature of pollution sources of mostly alkanes, alkylated mono-aromatics and biphenyls, alkenes, branched and cyclic-aliphatic hydrocarbons. |
