Ethics in research: A science lifecycle approach
The Ethics in research workbook is based on an applied ethics approach, consisting of a brief theoretical introduction followed by the application of the knowledge-to-action ethics framework on a case study. The workbook unpacks the knowledge creation process and uses it as a frame where the most common ethical issues in research are exposed. Each phase of the research process can then be recontextualized through an ethics lens.
The ethics in health research education resource material offered here is initially intended to assist Canadian young investigator and trainee communities to develop the skills, knowledge and attitudes needed to identify and act on the ethical issues inherent in their work throughout the research life cycle.
The first edition published in 2012 and reviewed in 2018 is currently being updated, and is anticipated to be released in early 2025.
