Transforming Health with Integrated Care (THINC)
Implementation Science Teams and Knowledge Mobilization and Impact Hub
Recipients of the Transforming Health with Integrated Care (THINC) Implementation Science Teams and Knowledge Mobilization and Impact Hub (Hub) are receiving up to six years of funding to conduct transformative integrated care research and mobilize knowledge for impact.
The THINC ISTs aim to generate evidence for implementing, scaling, and spreading integrated care models nationwide, focusing on those most in need. Meanwhile, the Hub will enhance the dissemination and application of this evidence in policy and practice, fostering a pan-Canadian learning community dedicated to evidence-informed integrated care transformation.
The $26.6 million investment in THINC is possible due to partnerships within CIHR and at the Fonds de recherche du Québec – Santé, Research New Brunswick, Ontario Ministry of Health, Saskatchewan Health Research Foundation, and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council.
The reach of THINC
THINC aims to be transformative in its reach, scope, collaborations, and impact. Each IST operates under a quadripartite leadership model, comprising a researcher, a decision-maker, a person with lived experience, and a provider. While the Nominated Principal Investigator is identified in the map, below, they function as part of this collaborative leadership team, ensuring a blend of expertise in research, policy, practice, and lived experience. Additionally, the teams and studies are cross-jurisdictional (involving more than one municipality, city, health region, reserve, province/territory, country), broadening their scope, potential for impact, and opportunity to learn from implementation in different settings and contexts.
