Congratulations to the CIHR and IDRC funded recipients of the 8th Global Alliance for Chronic Diseases competition
As a member of the Global Alliance for Chronic Diseases (GACD), CIHR partnered with the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) in the eighth GACD research funding call: Implementation research targeting chronic non-communicable disease risk factors associated with city environments.
Congratulations to the following researchers who will receive funding from CIHR and IDRC through this program:
IRDC:
- Building healthy communities with the dual goal of chronic disease prevention and promoting environmental sustainability, the Sustainability Healthy Active Living (SHAL) project; Sonia Anand (McMaster University) and Simon Anderson (University of West Indies)
CIHR:
- Leveraging the built environment to promote physical activity in primary care settings: implementation of a precision health strategy; Tracie Barnett (McGill University)
CIHR and IDRC funded researchers will receive up to $2 million over 5 years to support their implementation research targeting chronic non-communicable disease risk factors associated with urban environment.
