avian influenza pathogenesis, small animal models for respiratory virus diseases, vaccine development and host immunity to vaccination and infection My lab has extensive expertise in small animal models for avian influenza viruses with a toolkit of a broad number of AIV subtypes include the most recent H5N1 isolates, and H7Nx. We have nearly a decade of experience in evaluating different vaccine/therapeutics, and our own interest lies in advancing our understanding of AIV pathogenesis and host immunity to different AIV subtypes. We have a fully certified CL-3 facility for work with AIV, and are ready to support any Canadian researchers in this area.
